LONDON (AP) — Police said Sunday that a fourth person has died in Britain during a storm that pounded the U.K. and northern Europe with gale-force winds and torrential rain.Derbyshire Police said a woman in her 80s was found dead at a home in Chesterfield, central England. Her death was being linked to flooding in the area.In nearby Derby, the River Derwent reached its highest-ever recorded level on Saturday during a storm that brought 8 inches (200 mm) of rain to parts of Britain.Since Thursday, at least five people have died in the storm — named Babet by the U.K. Meteorological Office — that battered Britain, northern Germany and southern Scandinavia with powerful winds, heavy rain and sea surges.In Britain, a man and a woman were killed after being swept away by floodwaters, and another man died when a tree fell on his vehicle. OTTAWA — Six months after the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and Radio-Canada scaled back its use of the social media site X, the public broadcaster says it will mostly remain off the platform formerly known as Twitter because it doesn’t bring in a lot of traffic.Leon Mar, a spokesperson for the public broadcaster, said CBC’s focus is to engage Canadians on other platforms and to continue driving traffic to its websites and streaming services. “The audience and engagement that we get from X is small. ST. LOUIS -- On Tuesday, it will have been one year since a former student opened fire inside Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, resulting in the deaths of a student and a teacher. As a mark of respect, classes at CVPA and the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience, which shares its campus within the St. Louis Public School District, will be canceled on Monday and Tuesday. The community is designating October 24 as a day of remembrance. On that day last year, a 19-year-old gunman killed two individuals and injured seven others at Central Visual Arts and Performing Arts High School. This incident was one of the deadliest school shootings in the U.S. last year. WENTZVILLE -- A person involved in a fight that escalated into a shooting incident has died According to the Wentzville Police Department, the victim was in an argument with another individual that led to the shooting. The incident occurred on Friday night on Evergreen Court. Law enforcement reports indicate that the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Officers administered life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived on the scene, but the victim later died in the hospital. Detectives took the suspect into custody on the same night. ST. LOUIS -- Sunny, cooler, and less windy Sunday behind a cold front that moved through yesterday. Highs will be in the mid- to upper 60s. It’s a one-day cool down. We’ll warm up again Monday and Tuesday, back into the mid- to upper-70s to near 80. It was breezy both days, with sunshine on Monday and increasing clouds on Tuesday.  By Tuesday night and Wednesday, we see an active pattern kick in. Rain showers are likely Wednesday, breezy with highs in the 70s. Rain chances linger Thursday and Friday, which are a bit cooler each day. It will have a chillier feel by next weekend.
