Hochul announces over $3M in grants for land conservation

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Tuesday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced grants for not-for-profit land trusts across New York. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Auditor says he may file a lawsuit against St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner.Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick said she’s not handing over the information he needs to complete the audit to see if her office is wasting taxpayers' money.He said he’s been after certain documents for some time now and has given the Circuit Attorney’s Office deadlines. He said he'd run out of patience.“If we don’t received that in the next week or so, then we will be going to court," Fitzpatrick said. "We basically have to file a lawsuit to enforce the petition in court, where a judge would essentially order the Circuit Attorney’s Office to comply with the subpoena, and if they fail to do that, we would have to go back to the judge and say they didn’t. Then the judge would have to determine if they were going to be held in contempt of court or what was going to happen there. St. Louis doctor drowns while fishing in Ozark County

OZARK COUNTY, Mo. - A St. Louis doctor drowned over the weekend during a fishing trip in Southern Missouri.Dr. Richard Brasington, a rheumatologist, was wading in the North Fork River, upstream from the Sunburst landing, some time after 10 a.m. on Sunday when he drowned. An incident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Brasington was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m. by the Ozark County Coroner's Office. Brasington was 71. St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office reeling after resignations Our news partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch spoke with Cpl. Johnathan Roberts of the state patrol, who said a kayaker found Brasington's body around 1 p.m.Brasington had been wearing chest-high waders to go into the river, Roberts said, and investigators suspect he may have fallen and been unable to surface because they had filled with water.

CENTENNIAL — When doctors told Angela Fuller that she needed spinal fusion surgery, I’m sure it would have been nearly impossible for her to imagine that one day she would be competing in one of TV’s most famous athletic competitions.Just after graduating from Colorado State University, the Littleton native got in a terrible car crash that shattered her back. Aerosmith will be touring a city near you for the last time to celebrate the rock band’s 50-plus years together. Members of the Writers Guild of America are on strike after they could not reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which consists of production companies and Hollywood studios. The writers say that current management proposals do nothing to address changes in the work environment that make economic and working conditions far worse for writers. Following Monday night's decision to strike, the WGA issued a statement. "'The companies' behavior has created a gig economy inside a union workforce, and their immovable stance in this negotiation has betrayed a commitment to further devaluing the profession of writing," the statement read.
