ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Josh Jung hit a tiebreaking single in a two-run seventh inning, and the Texas Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 6-4 on Tuesday night in their bid for an AL wild card.Texas, which ended a four-game losing streak, began the night tied with Seattle for the third AL wild card. The Rangers play the Mariners in seven of their last 10 games. SAN DIEGO (AP) — Padres left-hander Blake Snell has not allowed a hit through six innings against the Colorado Rockies.Snell, the big league ERA leader who is making a push for his second Cy Young Award, had thrown 89 pitches Tuesday night. He had struck out eight against the Rockies and walked three, pushing his major league-leading total to 95.There was no score.Snell began the game with a 14-9 record in 31 starts this season. He won the AL Cy Young Award with Tampa Bay in 2018. CINCINNATI (AP) — Minnesota Twins rookie third baseman Royce Lewis is considered day-to-day after leaving Tuesday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds with a tight left hamstring.Lewis originally suffered the injury while beating out a grounder early in the game, bench coach and interim manager Jayce Tingler said. He appeared to pull up a bit later while running out a double-play ball, but he stayed in the game until aggravating the injury with an awkward swing in the eighth.“He’s day-to-day,” Tingler said. “We’ll see how he responds. Sullivan Award on Tuesday night as the nation’s top collegiate or Olympic athlete.Clark was honored at the New York Athletic Club.
