The Massachusetts State Police said it lifted its closure of the Fourth of July event at the Esplanade after its shutdown two and a half hours earlier out of caution for the bad weather.“We will re-open the security checkpoints into the Esplanade at 5PM,” the agency updated via email shortly before 5 p.m. “The screening process will resume; visitors will be allowed in to watch the concert and fireworks, which will begin as scheduled. Shanon Gray, an attorney for the family of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the stabbing victims, said the university is disregarding families’ requests that the home be left standing until after the trial of Bryan Kohberger, which is set to begin in October, the Idaho Statesman reported.
